Frequently Asked Questions
==============================================

Should we book?
We advise that you buy your tickets in advance to avoid disappointment.

When should we arrive?
Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your session to collect your skates.

Is skate hire included in the ticket price?
Yes, skates are provided.

What size skates are available?
Skates are available from child size 8 (euro 25) to adult size 15 (euro 50). Double bladed skates are available for smaller children that will fit over the child’s shoe.

Can we bring our own skates?
Yes, but organisers reserve the right not to allow the use of skates that are deemed to be unsuitable.

What is the minimum age for skating?
Children need to be 3 years and over although we advise parents to use their discretion as to whether the child will enjoy the experience if they are very young. Children under 8 yrs of age must be accompanied by a full fee paying adult aged 18 or over (maximum 2 under 8s per adult). Children cannot be carried in the arms of an older person.

Are wheelchair users allowed on the ice rink?
Yes, a limited number are allowed on each session. Wheelchair users need to be accompanied by an able bodied person to push the user around the rink. The able bodied person does not need to be able to skate as spiked grips can be provided for their shoes. Please advise Ticketline at time of booking. The Ice Café bar, heated terrace and Wheel of Wales Cardiff are all accessible to wheelchair users.

What should we wear?
Remember the ice rink is open-air and skating continues come rain or shine, so dress warmly. At times there may be a thin layer of water on the ice rink; this will not affect your skating but you may get a bit wet if you take a tumble. Thick cotton trouser especially jeans will soak up a lot of water and take a long time to dry out. Wet weather clothing is recommended for inclement days. Wear thick socks for extra comfort and don’t forget your gloves.

Will sessions be cancelled in bad weather?
The ice rink is open air and subject to weather conditions. Heavy rain, snow or high winds may make it necessary to cancel a skating session. In the event of cancellation bookings will be transferred to a suitable alternative session through original point of purchase. If there isn’t a suitable alternative refunds will be arranged through original point of purchase. Travel costs will not be reimbursed.

Do we have to pay to spectate?
All the viewing areas and ice café bar are free to access so come along to watch and keep warm with some hot chocolate or mulled wine.
